Business
- Other Business
- The group decided not to replace Kathy Marston.
- Golf events. Dave Kemnitz joined the meeting.
- 2016 Women’s Day Schedule. Link to schedule
- One of the 2016 goals is to create more opportunities for members to play with different people throughout the season and to enhance communication with league members. Dave will help us achieve that goal by tracking the pairings.
- Guest days. 2 guest days are built into the schedule; June 15th and September 7th. On these days the guest charge will be $67.00 (vs $102.00). The $10 fee to enter the league game will be waived. (NOTE: the $10.00 guest day fee goes into the Women’s Day budget.) Participating in the Skins Game is optional.
Guests are welcome on other days as well - Flighted events: June 22nd and August 17th
On June 22nd the event will be “Ace of the Day.” The field will be flighted and the event will be individual net by flight.
We will determine the effectiveness of the event and determine how to approach August 17th. - Ringer all season event, replaces birdie payout from last season.
Starts June 1st through August 31st.
Dave will create a description and we will communicate to our members via email blast and poster in locker room.
Dave will work on developing a system for members to know their progress.
$150 is set aside to pay 1st, 2nd 15th and 16th places. - Trifecta -
It was decided to table the event for this year and seek member input before proceeding. - Communicating weekly results
Dave will send a link to the results to Christa for posting in her Thursday evening MCC Weekly email blast. - Women’s Overnight Trip
It was decided to pause for a year, seek additional input and make a decision for next year. - Women’s Round Robin Match Play
This is not a Women’s Day event. Dave will be sending out more information soon and posting sign up sheets. We will encourage participation.
- Lollapalooza. Link to draft ideas
September Liler will joined us for this discussion. Becky and Joanie will take the ideas discussed, do some more investigating and report back at our next meeting.
- Communication
Our goal is to provide opportunities for all Women’s Day participants to have ample opportunity for input and make information readily available. - Process. We will utilize the MCC THursday Weekly blast and once a month (at minimum) send our own email blast just to members. We will make announcements before each Women’s Day event. We will hold an open forum on July 13th.
- Meetings will be posted on a blog for all to access.
- Recognition dinner and meeting at the end of the season.

MCC Ladies League Financial Report as of May 12, 2016
- Our balance remaining from 2015 is 905.64
- We have 41 paid members for 2016, which generates $2,460 in dues
- Our total available funds are $3,365
- We have set up a budget for ladies league winnings to be paid over the course of the season. The breakdown is as follows:
- Ordinary prize money -- $2,560 (weekly budget is reduced in May and September to reflect fewer golfers)
- Chip-ins $80
- Birdies – this will be discontinued in 2016 and replaced with a season-long game called “The Ringer.” Budgeted prizes for this game are $150
- o Lollapalozza prizes $150
These 4 budget components add up to $2,830 – leaving us $370 in the red for 2016. However, with 2 well-timed rain-outs, we will just about Break even. If we find in August that we have had no rain-outs, we may decide to reduce price money in August.
KEY FINANCIAL POLICIES:
- In part, pay-outs will be based on the number of members participating at any one day. When there are fewer than 4 players, there is no pay-out. When there are at least 13 players, we will pay 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place.
- League members are encouraged to bring guests. The standard guest fee for 2016 is $102. However, on the 2 scheduled GUEST DAYS, that fee will be reduced to $67.
- Ladies who are not league members are welcome to play on Wednesdays, however there is a fee of $10 to participate in the game. This money goes to the MCC ladies league. Ladies who choose not to pay the fee are not eligible to collect a prize. Skins ($5 buy-in) are always optional for members and non-members. Skins money goes exclusively to winners.
- Chip-ins will continue to be paid at $2 each. Birdies are not payable (replaced by The Ringer).
- Currently, there are no plans to raise additional funds for the ladies league (apart from dues) or to spend money on anything other than golf-event related prizes.
